After joining the staff of Billboard in 2018 as an editorial intern, I have had the privilege of working for the iconic brand ever since as a freelancer, a full-time writer and now as an editor. As Pride Editor, along with writing and publishing stories about the intersection of music and LGBTQ+ culture, I also edit daily news stories from our staff, appear on video and podcast projects, contribute regularly to staff lists and cover awards ceremonies throughout the calendar year.

A cover story I wrote for Billboard’s 2024 Pride issue, featuring country-pop singer Maren Morris in conversation with drag performers Symone, Sasha Colby, Eureka O’Hara and Landon Cider about the shifting political reality of LGBTQ+ rights in the U.S. The conversation touched on anit-LGBTQ+ laws and court rulings, the responsibility of artists to speak up for the community, drag’s impact on pop culture and more. This story went on to win the 2024 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Print Article.

An evergreen list I organized for the start of Pride Month 2025, featuring 100 of the greatest songs by and for LGBTQ+ people. The story ended up garnering millions of visitors and pageviews for our site, and quickly became one of the most clicked-on stories of the month.

An interview I conducted with pop superstar Lady Gaga ahead of the release of her seventh studio album Mayhem. The interview saw us discussing the production of the album itself, the project’s themes and the singer’s renewed cultural status thanks to the breakout success of her Bruno Mars duet “Die With a Smile.”
