Columbia Missourian
At the Columbia Missourian, I worked for two semesters as a reporter on the community beat. The community beat is specifically designed for longer-form profile stories on individuals or trends within the Columbia, Missouri community. I got to speak with and write about more than a few interesting people while on my beat.
Along with my role as a beat reporter, I also covered breaking news during fall 2015. Specifically, I contributed to the coverage of the University of Missouri protests in October and November of 2015, writing a front-page article about the threats made to the campus via Yik Yak.
