HI.
I'm Stephen Daw, a magazine writer based in New York City currently working as a Staff Writer for Billboard. I graduated in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in Print and Digital News Writing from the University of Missouri.
In the four years that I have been a working journalist, a number of reputable news organizations have given me the opportunity to do good work for them. Through many of these opportunities, I've grown exponentially and begun to hone my craft.
I want to continue that growth. I am a proficient writer and editor, and I know my way around multimedia equipment. I'm an eager learner, and I'm willing to put myself in new situations in order to expand my horizons. If you have an opportunity for a young journalist to grow, I am interested.
In my personal life, I'm a Pisces (Sun = Pisces, Moon = Aquarius, Ascending = Pisces, in case star charts are your thing). Not into the Zodiac? I'm also an INFP on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (I'm an idealistic, inquisitive intervenor who's guided by principles and intention). Not into the MBTI? It's cool, you should get into it.
Outside of journalism, I like to talk about music, RuPaul's Drag Race, hegemonic masculinity, memes, whatever I most recently watched on Netflix, and why the Oxford comma is an important aspect of the English language.
